Wales’ Only Crawfish Boil Returns to Neighbourhood Kitchen This Summer!

After a year of waiting, Wales’ only Crawfish Boil is back at Neighbourhood Kitchen this summer, and it’s bigger and better than ever! Having previously sold out weeks in advance last year, the team have decided to treat us all to two whole months of the Lousiana-style feast, arriving at the restaurant in Riverside from Tuesday 3rd June through to Sunday 3rd August.

This truly unique experience has got the whole of Cardiff talking, bringing a taste of the Deep South to South Wales. If you’re a lover of seafood, this is a must-try!

For £27pp you can enjoy a table full of fresh, sustainably caught crawfish, shell-on prawns, juicy sausage, corn on the cob and red potatoes all tossed generously in Crawfish Bob’s secret seasoning. Pop on your bib and roll up your sleeves as the team pours the boil across your newspaper-covered table, ready to get messy in true Louisiana fashion.

They’ll have a full, delicious menu of sides such as Cajun Fries, Hushpuppies and Mac & Cheese to help you complete the feast. Neighbourhood promises no one will go home hungry if they have anything to say about it! Need something to wash all this down with? The team have curated an extra special menu featuring Louisiana-style cocktails and plenty of bourbon alongside a banging playlist to get you in the spirit. This menu has been a sell-out year on year, so it’s best to book your table fast before it’s too late.

The owner of Neighbourhood, Tudor Barber, has been waiting patiently to bring back this popular menu. He told us….

“We get a call, message or email almost every day asking when our Crawfish Boil will be back on the menu. The foodies of South Wales absolutely love it, so we’re really pleased to be able to give the people what they want!

It’s such a fun, sociable and delicious way to enjoy something a little bit different with friends and family. It’s one of the reasons I love working in hospitality, looking at a full restaurant of excited customers sporting their bibs, getting their hands in and worrying about the mess later.

Sustainability is always a huge factor for us when planning menus, which is why we source all our crawfish from ‘Crawfish Bob’ from Crayaway. Bob has been responsible for removing non-native crawfish from our waterways for over 15 years, protecting British Crawfish from the potential threat that US crawfish pose. It just so happens that the crawfish are a complete delicacy too, so come on down and get cracking!”

Not a crawfish lover? Their menu will also feature dishes such as a Louisiana-style catfish, sloppy joes and a VEGAN Po’Boy to satisfy every craving and dietary requirement.

The Neighbourhood Crawfish Boil menu will run in June & July ONLY – so book your table before it’s too late. And with only 22 seats you better be quick, as they fill up fast! They’re taking a £15 deposit per head at the time of booking which will be taken off your bill on the night. Book your table HERE

Just an 8-minute walk from Cardiff Central Station, Neighbourhood Kitchen & Cocktails is a stone’s throw away from the city centre. They’ll be serving up their Crawfish Boil on Tuesdays to Fridays, 5pm til late | Saturdays & Sundays 12pm til late | Running through to 3rd August.
